The Aquadolls - "Hollywood"

With this latest release from one of our favorite Southern California bands, The Aquadolls have begun a new era with some exciting announcements, and plunged back into the forefront of the music scene.

The recently released video for their song, “Hollywood”, follows our lovely ladies through Los Angeles, featuring concert clips, sunset drives, and stylish escapades. Melissa Brooks will always be an welcome presence for girls looking to break into the music scene, but for some of you, there might be a few faces in the group that aren’t too familiar.

Two weeks ago a video was released entitled, “Who Are The Aquadolls?”, addressing and introducing the latest members (and also hinting at an Aquadolls world tour?! Um yes please!).

Can I first say, I’m already in love with these badass ladies! In an industry that’s clearly lacking in female representation, The Aquadolls’ all girl lineup is one that is not only inspiring, but incredibly empowering. Watching their introduction video gave me the urge to go out and start a band of my own, and will hopefully have the same effect for others as well.

For this release, Mel sent us over a few excerpts from each of the girls, commenting on their favorite aspect of filming for ‘Hollywood’.

Melissa Brooks (lead singer and guitarist): This is the first video off of The Aquadolls’ second album, "The Dream and The Deception", which makes this video the official kickoff of the new era of visuals. My favorite part of shooting ‘Hollywood’ was when we got to go to Knott's Berry Farm all together and waited in line for 45 minutes just to get a picture with Santa. We wanted to recreate this funny picture we found on Twitter of "mall goths" with Santa, so we wore our finest dark attire and asked one of the employees to film our meet and greet with Mr. Claus, and she nailed it! We ended up using the photo to make holiday cards that we mailed out to fans, and used some of the footage for the music video!

Jackie Proctor (drums and backup vocals): Filming "Hollywood" was super fun because we were just cruising around Los Angeles to some of our favorite spots, like Hollywood Forever Cemetery and The Cobra Shop. Plus, it was just fun to frolic around and be the lil miss sassy pants we always are.

Kate Rose (guitar and backup vocals): Hollywood Forever is one of my favorite places in Los Angeles, so it was so special filming there with my fave girl squad! I love the closing shot of us walking down the stairs and dancing around.

Keilah Nina (keyboard and bass): Filming the "Hollywood" video was a lot of fun with these gals! My favorite parts were getting to go to Hollywood Forever Cemetery and also Knotts Berry Farm! I also really loved getting to play dress up like Hollywood starlets at The Cobra Shop.

With only a month into the new year, it’s already evident that 2019 with be the era of The Aquadolls. I think I speak for everyone when I say that I cannot wait for what’s to come! Make sure to check out their latest music video, and stay up to date with future releases and announcements!
