Premiere: ‘KIDS’ by Marina Mónaco

A note from the Editors: We connected with Marina a few months ago — a quick message turned into two, and two into ten. When she first approached us about premiering this project on Pure Nowhere, we didn’t understand the full impact the final work would have on us. I remember when we got the final drive link, scrolling through the film photos in between frantic texts to Abby. I couldn’t understand how Marina had trusted us with this, a documentation of youth that made me want to scream - suddenly small in my childhood bedroom, with dreams of adventures and restlessness rising in my chest. I could sit here and try to explain the importance of this project, but I don’t think I’d ever be able to do it justice.
