Banks took the stage on September 7th for the first of her three night sold out run at Brooklyn Steel. Matching deeply personal words with dynamic electronic beats, she is the ultimate powerhouse. In Banks’ lyrics and performances, she integrates beauty into her signature boldness to create astounding songs of self-empowerment. By watching her live, it becomes increasingly evident that Banks is far more than just a singer; She’s fully immersed in the art she creates and meticulous in its delivery. Her electrifying, strobe-soaked visuals treated the audience to an absorbing experience fueled by all senses. Playing eleven of the thirteen songs from her newest album “III”, one of the night’s most tender moments existed in “Sawzall”, where she prefaced the song by encouraging the audience to always preserve a childlike sense of romanticism and curiosity. Later revealed as her favorite show of the tour thus far, Banks delivered her addictively dark sound with an elevated energy.
