Gnash @ Irving Plaza

by Micaela Rebelo

Gnash played a sold out show at Irving Plaza in New York City. He welcomed his audience to the Broken Hearts club and allowed them to have one night to escape from any issues they may be dealing with in the outside world. His energetic personality on stage had his crowd dancing and singing their hearts out all night long.

Gnash’s engagement with his crowd is something that every artist should strive for. He not only touched on what a heartbreak can feel like, but also how its okay to not be okay. During his song “Broken Hearts Club” he encouraged the crowd to embrace the people around them. Art is all about having an outlet to express ourselves, and sometimes that means having these difficult conversations about our mental health and well being. I’m glad to see an artist like gnash being able to take these difficult situations and make them into a really memorable experience.
