Washed Out Version of Romanticism

words, photos & scans by dominik schabel

This project, entitled “that’s my version of romanticism“, is about love. It’s about saying goodbye, about picking your clothes up off the floor silently and closing the door behind you. It’s about the beginning of your 20s - and it’s a washed out version of romanticism. But, after all, everything is new and exciting. So you finish your makeup, you finish your drink, and you open up to what the night holds for you.

“It’s about picking your clothes up off the floor silently
and closing the door behind you.”

All of these photos and texts were made over the course of last summer. They’re more or less snapshots of friends and strangers - everything that I came across and documented, everything going on in my life at that moment.
