Suspicious packages sent to Clintons, Obamas, and Journalists

In Manhattan on Thursday, the NYPD identified what appeared to be live explosives and “white powder” in suspicious packages mailed to major democratic figures such as the Clinton and Obama families as well as journalists from networks such as CNN. Mayor DeBlasio defines this an instance of domestic terrorism. A total of 12 boxes have been found within the last few days, and one suspect has been arrested.

Attack in the Synagogue

Yet another shooting took place this past Saturday night, at the Tree of Life Congregation Synagogue in Pittsburgh. Worshipers were stormed by an active gunman, leaving eleven dead and two wounded in an only twenty-minute attack. A blatant hate-crime, President Trump responded to this tragedy insinuating that the event would not have occurred if there was an armed guard present at the place of worship. The shooter awaits verdict on death penalty.

Catholic church could be facing a
federal case

The Catholic Dioceses of Pennsylvania are the subjects of a recently opened Justice Department case investigating the cover-up of sexual assault cases spanning decades. This comes two months after a grand jury report that accused the Church of covering up the abuses of around 1,000 people in a 70 year period.

Afghan police chief assassinated

The Afghan police chief was assassinated by the Taliban by what appeared to be an insider attack in Kandahar City (according to the New York Times). As a result, the upcoming elections in Afghanistan have been delayed in Kandahar Province, where the police chief was an influential political figure.

The term Transgender might be eliminated

The Trump Administration announced on  they are considering classifying gender exclusively by genitalia as documented at birth. This would affect the 1.4 million Americans identifying as transgender who have received increased protection under the law as a result of Obama Administration policies.

The iconic 90’s TV show “Sabrina the Teenage Witch” re-launches with a spookier twist in the new Netflix original series “Chilling Adventures of Sabrina”.Kiernan Shipka, who previously played Sally Draper on Mad Men, plays the main character and teenage witch Sabrina Spellman.

Turkey gets involved with the murder of Khashoggi

After the Saudi Arabian kingdom admitted to the murder of Washington Post journalist Jamal Khashoggi on October 2nd at their Istanbul consulate, Erdogan- the president of Turkey- planned to have the top Istanbul prosecutor to meet with the top Saudi prosecutor on Turkish land. Erdogan has made it clear to the media that he believes the solving of the murder comes down to “18 persons”, referring to the provincial heads of the Justice and Development Party in Ankara.
